America needs to move away from fossil fuel and towards a new future of renewable energy.
The United States is currently subsidizing oil and gas companies around $50 billion dollars per year [N]. We should stop all subsidies surrounding oil and gas as that form of energy is too expensive to sustain, and the climate has suffered because of the pollution all the world’s countries have participated in. Furthermore, far too many international relations have suffered due to our dependency on oil.
The USA must lead the world towards a new future of energy that is completely sustainable. I’m talking solar energy, wind energy, hydro power, and similar technology. Companies with this technology can be subsidized if there is a return to the tax payers, such as equipment rebates and more jobs for Americans.
Unfortunately, at this time I do not see a completely safe future in nuclear energy.
