I continue to ask for American Stereotypes from around the world to respond to.
I went on Facebook, an internet forum, and a blogging platform and asked various non-Americans about the American stereotypes and rumors they’ve heard or shared. I wanted to collect as much as I could and respond to them in a video. I give my own opinions at first, and then do a little research for factual information at the bottom of the video — that is, if facts are needed.
This is part three of my original video. I got so many stereotypes and recorded so many responses in a single day. Instead of releasing one giant video, I decided to cut it up into parts. In this part, I respond to the following statement:
“Let’s see, after watching a generous helping of political satire growing up in Australia, you would believe everyone in the US of A has a gun, a desire to up-size everything except the supermodels, go over the top with the flag waving and religious worship and sell their mothers for a taste of fame. And that’s all stuff I see in Australia too… although our gun control went in the opposite direction after a fellow by the name of Martin Bryant sparked a nationwide crackdown on firearms.”
I will continue doing these as one of my American-based features in the future. If you’d like to contribute more stereotypes, feel free to leave a comment in this article or in the video’s comments section. It would be best if you’re not from the United States of America when adding stereotypes. And don’t forget to share this with your non-American friends so they can add some stereotypes as well!
