Father’s Day in America

A day for dad! What is Father’s Day in America like?

Father’s Day is a holiday celebrated all around the world. It’s a day when the family gives appreciation to their fathers, whether it’s their biological father or the man who raised them. In the US, this holiday always lands on the third Sunday in June.

Here in the USA, most people try to give their fathers time to relax and take it easy. Often times the family gives gifts to their father, but this isn’t always the case. Common gifts that are put on sale for father’s day include power tools (drills, saws, etc), lawnmowers, BBQ tools, and ties! There’s always someone giving a tie to their father, even if they never wear ties.

And that’s pretty much all you need to know about Father’s Day in the USA. For the most part, Father’s Day is like Mother’s Day. The main difference is the type of gifts that are given to fathers. However, I don’t really remember making gifts in elementary school for father’s day, only for mother’s day.
